Floe

Floe is a privacy-first file transfer utility built around a simple idea: your files should go straight from one device to another, not sit on someone else's server. Instead of uploading to the cloud, Floe opens an end-to-end encrypted peer-to-peer connection between sender and receiver using WebRTC, right in the browser — no app install, no account creation, and no third-party storage in the middle. For direct P2P transfers there are no enforced file size limits, which makes it well suited for large videos, design assets, raw photo dumps, code archives, or sensitive documents that would normally hit cloud storage caps or compliance friction. When a direct connection can't be established, Floe falls back to a relay (capped at 2GB) so transfers still complete, but the default path keeps data off intermediate servers entirely. The whole tool is open source, browser-based, and stripped of the usual accounts, dashboards, and trackers — it's designed for users who want fast, private, frictionless file sharing without trusting a vendor with their data.
