    Blur Background

The visual difference between a snapshot and a photograph is very often just depth of field. A blurred background separates the subject from the clutter behind it, and it is the single effect most responsible for why phone portrait mode looks better than a plain camera shot. Getting it after the fact traditionally meant masking the subject by hand in Photoshop — a slow, fiddly job that falls apart around hair, glasses and edges. Blur Background does that separation automatically. Upload an image, the model works out where the subject ends and the background begins, and the background is blurred while the subject stays crisp. The value is in the edge quality. Any tool can blur a rectangle; a useful one has to handle the boundary between a person and what is behind them convincingly, because that is where a fake-looking cutout gives itself away. Handling it automatically is what turns this from a design task into a one-click operation for people with no editing background. The practical uses are narrow and constant. Portraits shot in a busy room become usable headshots. Product photos taken on a real desk stop competing with the desk. Social posts and listings gain a consistent look without a studio backdrop. Team photos taken in different rooms can be normalised to something closer to a shared style. Marketplace sellers, recruiters, small businesses and creators all hit this problem weekly, and almost none of them want to open an editor to solve it. It is deliberately a single-purpose tool, which is both the appeal and the limit: there is no retouching, no colour work, no compositing, and images with very complex edges or a subject that blends into the background will occasionally need manual cleanup elsewhere. Free browser access means the only meaningful evaluation — running your own difficult photo through it and looking closely at the edges — takes about a minute.
