Small GitHub-based engineering teams that want a second reviewer focused on authorization and business-logic security

Aevral
Aevral takes a narrower and more useful position than another generic code scanner: it looks for the security failures that depend on understanding how an application behaves, especially broken authorization, IDOR and business-logic flaws. Its whole-repository scan works against code already in GitHub and returns evidence from the repository rather than a context-free warning. Each finding includes a remediation prompt intended for Claude Code, Cursor or Codex, which shortens the path from identifying a problem to preparing a reviewed fix. A separate pull-request reviewer checks changes as they arrive, and the two products can be used independently. The most credible product decision is its coverage verdict: when a scan cannot inspect enough of the repository, Aevral says the result is incomplete instead of presenting silence as proof of safety. That honesty does not remove the need for human review. Automated analysis can miss runtime configuration, infrastructure boundaries and vulnerabilities that only appear in production data flows, while generated fix prompts still need testing before merge. Teams should treat it as an additional security reviewer, not a replacement for penetration testing or a secure development process. For small engineering teams already working in GitHub and AI coding tools, though, its focus on high-impact logic flaws is more actionable than another long list of lint-level findings.
